S.U.P.W. Workshop
An S.U.P.W. Workshop was conducted as a part of the Community Based Practical of first semester B.Ed program on 6th March, 2024. Resource persons from B.R.C. Chengannur, Remya Ma'am and Manju Ma'am led the workshop. The workshop began with the Doormat making session. We were divided into groups, given instructions on how to braid pieces of cloth and make a doormat. Divyasree and I started making a doormat. All of us finished making doormats using old clothes, sarees etc.
The next item to be learnt was soap making. The teachers beautifully demonstrated the process of making soap. One could easily make the soap in less than 3 hours. Transparent pink soaps were made which had the fragrance of roses.
In the afternoon session, we were taught to make handwash, bathroom cleaning lotion and detergent powder. Students were also involved in combining and mixing all the different ingredients. It was a session which helped us learn a lot of new ways to make useful products. Learning these will enable us to make our own products. It was a great session involving hands on experience and learning by doing.
